Peter Munch

Peter Münch grew up in Düsseldorf and studied history and German. After completing his master's degree in Munich, he received his doctorate in history. Münch did a traineeship at a newspaper from 1985 to 1987 and from 1987 worked for the VKU's newspaper for municipal economy (ZfK). In 1990 he became editor of the Süddeutsche Zeitung (SZ) in the regions, news and foreign policy departments. As a reporter, he reported from war and crisis areas, including the Balkans, Afghanistan and Iraq. Münch was a correspondent for the SZ in Israel. He also published his reports in book form. In the SZ editorial team he rose to become department head of Page Three. From August 2017 to July 2020 he was an SZ correspondent in Vienna and then returned to Israel as a correspondent. Through the cooperation of the Süddeutsche Zeitung with TX Group, Münch's articles also appear in the Zürcher Tages-Anzeiger.
