According to the agreement, Hamas will release at least 50 women and children in exchange for a four-day ceasefire by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip. Recently, a reporter from the Beijing News interviewed Gerson Baskin, an international hostage negotiator, on the issue of negotiations between Israel and Hamas regarding detained persons. Baskin said the hostage negotiations were unprecedented. There will be a ceasefire if some hostages are released, but the ceasefire mentioned here does not mean the real end of the conflict. If Israel fails to achieve its military goal of eliminating Hamas, the conflict will continue.
