Born in Hamburg in 1982. Bachelor's degree in social sciences in Berlin and Barcelona. Journalism training at the Axel Springer Academy in Berlin. Reporter at “BZ am Sonntag”. IJP scholarship stay at “Haaretz” in Tel Aviv. Master's degree in Middle Eastern Studies in Jerusalem. Then freelance journalist in the Middle East. Reporting on the explosion in the port of Beirut, the war in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Taliban takeover in Afghanistan. 2021/2022 Middle East correspondent for the “Süddeutsche Zeitung”. From April 2022, reporter in crisis areas in SPIEGEL's foreign department, especially in Ukraine. Since January 2024 correspondent for Israel and the Palestinian Territories based in Tel Aviv.
