The effort by peace activist Gershon Baskin to buy surplus potatoes in Israel to donate to the people of Gaza has their critics in Israel.

Gershon Baskin called the assassination of Ahmed Jabari “total insanity”, claiming that Jabari was instrumental in enforcing cease-fire agreements and helped stop rocket attacks.

Gershon Baskin claims that there are dozens of Israeli-Palestinian co-existence groups, but “We Will Not Obey” is the only one that brings Israelis into the West Bank and Palestinians into Israel illegally.

Gershon Baskin considers the resumption of West Bank construction a potential danger to Israel because it could prompt widespread international recognition of a Palestinian state outside the framework of a peace agreement.

Gershon Baskin claims that Israel has issued entry permits to many Muslim pilgrims from countries without diplomatic ties to Israel, including Libya, Pakistan, Indonesia and even Saudi Arabia and that such visits are “low-key and under the radar.”

Gershon Baskin wants us to imagine the outrage if the Palestinians were building a Museum of Tolerance (or anything else) on what was once a Jewish cemetery.
