Michael Lee

Michael has been a reporter since 2015. His career has seen him land at community and daily newspapers across three provinces including Nova Scotia, Manitoba and Ontario. Currently based in Toronto, Ont., Michael has experience covering a range of stories from local politics and health to education and the courts. He joined the CTV News national digital team in October 2021 as a writer. He holds a bachelor of science from the University of Manitoba in Winnipeg and a bachelor of journalism from the University of King’s College in Halifax. His interests include politics, media and photography. Michael was a finalist in three categories at the Newspapers Atlantic 2017 Better Newspaper Competition Awards, including outstanding sports photo, outstanding feature photo and outstanding investigative story. He also was part of the team that earned first place finishes in general excellence and community engagement. In 2019, Michael came in third at the Manitoba Community Newspapers Association 100th annual Better Newspaper Competition Awards for best feature photo.
