Julia Neumann

Julia Neumann covers topics evolving around gender, social justice, such as urban culture and society. Her interests lie in constructive stories about migration and refugees such as questions about participation and exclusion within public spaces. She follows constructive, self-reflective approaches within reporting, questioning and taking into consideration intersectional power dynamics as well as post-colonial and anti-racist reporting. She is currently located in Beirut and focuses on stories from West Asia and North Africa. She is knowledgeable about intersectional feminism, racism, orientalism and post-colonial studies, which plays an important part in her journalistic work. Working for vairous media outlets, she follows a constructivist approach in reporting.
