Despite talks appearing to be at an impasse, the US says a ceasefire could still be possible. But it’s believed Israel boycotted negotiations in Cairo this week over a major sticking point: it’s asked Hamas to provide a list of surviving hostages, but Hamas says that’s impossible without a ceasefire in place first.
