A Qatari negotiator has predicted all Israeli civilians held hostage by Hamas could be freed in a matter of days if there is a break in the fighting.

Mr Baskin said it is difficult to determine what is meant by “civilian” as Hamas “considers almost every Israeli a soldier”.
“We need to be very specific that we expect the women, the children, the elderly, the sick, and the wounded to be freed,” he said.
The former negotiator went on to say he believed Israel is “prepared” to enter into a ceasefire in order to enable the agreement to be implemented.
The terror group has so far only released four hostages including an American mother, her daughter and two elderly women.
