Gershon Baskin believes that the two-state solution will ensure free movement of goods between West Bank and Gaza. This free movement of goods, cargo and people from Palestine to the Mediterranean, and then to Europe will entail tremendous economic advantages for Jordan.

Gershon Baskin is cited in the Regional Implications of the Establishment of a Palestinian State report written by the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Strategic Dialogue at Netanya Academic College and the Amman Center for Peace and Development, and funded by the European Union and by the Konrad- Adenauer-Stiftung, Israel Office. He believes that the two-state solution will ensure free movement of goods between West Bank and Gaza. This free movement of goods, cargo and people from Palestine to the Mediterranean, and then to Europe will entail tremendous economic advantages for Jordan.

Under the auspices of the European Union Partnership for Peace program and co-sponsored by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung, Israel, the S. Daniel Abraham Center for Strategic Dialogue at Netanya Academic College, in partnership with Data Studies and Consultation and the Amman Center for Peace & Development, have engaged in a two year, tri-lateral research project to examine the regional effects of a two-state solution. The research is published as an edited book in October, 2013 in three languages (English, Hebrew, and Arabic) and is being presented to key decision-makers, opinionshapers, and publics in the region, attempting to affect regional processes, by illustrating to leaders what “the day after” a peace agreement would look like.

The report states that the establishment of a Palestinian state alongside Israel would have far-reaching consequences for numerous and sundry areas, a fact that justifies the effort to carry out an in-depth academic research project, the findings and recommendations of which can help both the Israelis and Palestinians determine policy and consolidate action plans.
