Gershon Baskin is the founder of the Israel Palestine Center for Research and Information, a joint Israeli-Palestinian public policy organization seeking to promote peace-building initiatives. He served as the organization’s director from 1988 to 2011.

Adviser to two Israeli prime ministers, Baskin has gained considerable first-hand experience in grappling with the many issues that have hampered efforts to negotiate a peaceful end to the conflict. He played a pivotal role in the secret talks between Israel and Hamas that resulted in the release of captured Israeli soldier Gilad Schalit.
