VOORHEES South Jersey residents can gain a deeper understanding of the barriers to peace in Israel and Palestine during a public discussion, “Ground Realities in the Holy Land,” hosted by The Jewish Catholic Muslim Dialogue of South Jersey from 7 to 9 p.m. April 28.
Gershon Baskin, a peace activist and a columnist for the Jerusalem Post, will offer a fair and nuanced perspective on the Holy Land, explained David Snyder, executive director of the Jewish Community Relations Council of Southern New Jersey.
It’s an emotional topic, acknowledged organizer Asim Shafi of Cherry Hill, but he expects the public will hear “smart people having a conversation.”
“We want our communities to be seen as people who are advocates of peace and dialogue, and sitting down with people we might not necessarily agree with, but we have a deep respect for their point of view,” Shafi said.
